Needs From: City of San Leandro

Volunteer: RideCare

CityServe’s RideCare program is looking for caring volunteers to help seniors in San Leandro stay connected, independent, and supported.

RideCare is part of CityServe’s wraparound Care Coordination services and helps bridge the transportation gap for older adults who may otherwise struggle to get to important appointments or access essential needs. Our volunteers provide more than just a ride—they provide reassurance, companionship, and compassionate care.

Volunteer drivers offer door-through-door transportation, picking seniors up from their homes and helping them get safely to medical appointments, grocery stores, pharmacies, and other essential errands before ensuring they return home safely.

For many seniors, a RideCare volunteer means they don’t have to wait outside for public transportation, miss a doctor’s appointment, or go without groceries or medication. Just as importantly, they gain connection and encouragement through meaningful social interaction.

By volunteering with RideCare, you can make a direct impact on a senior’s physical, emotional, social, and financial well-being—one ride at a time.

Become a RideCare volunteer today and help ensure no senior has to navigate life’s essential journeys alone. Fill out our online form for more information.
